Shed Hunting Training

This training teaches a dog the pursuit of finding antlers that have been shed by antler bearing animals including deer, moose, and elk. Shed hunting is a low impact job for any breed of dog that loves to use their sniffer!

Payment Plans Available

Training includes any combination of antler hunting. Dogs of any age are accepted and trained how to pick up scent, how to distinguish and decipher different scents, how to follow a track by sight and smell, and how to dig antlers out of obstacles in extreme environments. Dogs are trained to search in a specific area on command, search the full 360-degree perimeter of the handler on command, and to search behind or out in front of the handler on command. Once a shed is found the dog is trained to retrieve it and bring it back to the handler in a heeling position.
